Heritage & Experience at Domaine Terre Ugo:
The legacy of flower cultivation was deeply rooted in Ugo, the patriarch. He was born amidst the blooms in Piedmont, Italy, and found his passion flourish in Grasse, France. Originally a vegetable grower, Ugo transitioned to cultivating flowers, a legacy now lovingly nurtured by his granddaughter Lisa Mazzoni Risso. Along with her brother, Florian, and their parents, they continue the family tradition at Terre Ugo, surrounded by fields of vibrant flowers. The 17th-century farmhouse, marked with the Royal Seal of Louis XIV, stands as a testament to their enduring heritage.
Terre Ugo’s commitment to sustainability is evident in their use of sheep for natural weeding, a practice that maintains an environmentally friendly approach to Lavandin cultivation. Visitors can immerse themselves in this fragrant paradise, enjoying daily field walks and a range of bookable activities. There are also special events all summer, adding to the allure. Sunday brunches, requiring reservations, present a delectable opportunity to savour the serenity of the estate.
The estate opened its doors to the public in 2019 and offers the perfect setting for private events from September to May following the lavender harvest.

Purple Lavandin
At Terre Ugo, the family planted Lavandin Grosso, a fragrant hybrid that is a cross between lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula Latifolia). This varietal is well-suited to dry, arid conditions and grows at lower altitudes, ranging from 200 to 1,000 metres. Lavandin Grosso is a popular choice among many farmers due to its hardy nature, deep-purple flowers, intense bouquet, and high essential oil yield.
