Searching For the Love of Lavender Near Uzes

Lavender Near Uzes

Had the Barefoot Blogger known lavender fields are so close to Uzes and how fabulous they are in person, I would have been visiting them much before now.

Thank goodness I learned how to get to some of the best fields this year. Continue reading here as Deborah discovers some beautiful lavender fields in the Gard and knows where to go for next season. The best part is her discovery of an olive oil mill (moulin) in a small village near Uzes. She found local specialties at their boutique, including olive oil and interesting sea salt with lavender flowers.

Lavender Desserts

Creamy Lavender Honey and Almond Pots come from Jeany at Mirabeau Wine. It is a rich, decadent, creamy pudding with summer berries and a lovely crunch of almonds. But, best of all, it’s easy to make.

This quick bread combines some of the best flavours from the South of France – Lemon Lavender Buttermilk Cornmeal Olive Oil Cake, another delicious recipe from Cocoa & Lavender.

Lavender Hot Chocolate
Deliciously rich and delicately floral, lavender hot chocolate is easy to make and delightful, especially when topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

Deborah Bine

The Barefoot Blogger, aka Deborah Bine, loves to share tales of her solo life in France as an American expat who speaks no French. Retired from a career in advertising and marketing communications, and divorced after a 40-year marriage with children, Deborah left Beaufort, South Carolina and all of her belongings last year to move to the south of France. Now that she has found her "bliss," her passion is to encourage others to break away from whatever is holding them back and to go after their dreams. "We're on life's journey alone. Be certain you love where you are."
