La Picholine is a beautiful, fully renovated guesthouse in the centre of the quiet village of Mollégès in the Alpilles. Undiscovered by most tourists, Mollégès is an authentic village surrounded by agriculture in the heart of the Alpilles. This beautiful holiday rental with two (2) bedrooms is only ten (10) minutes from Saint Remy de Provence or a five (5) minute drive from Eygalières.

The Guesthouse:

La Picholine, a self-catering gîte, is hardly recognizable from the previously unused barn. The guesthouse, which sleeps four (4) comfortably, was renovated using high-quality, local materials such as stone, steel windows and oak beams. The owners are Robin, a contractor, and Ashley, a photographer, artist, and the founder of Curious Provence. This lovely two-bedroom holiday rental is on their property with a private garden and entry.

La Picholine has two (2) bedrooms with king-size beds (180 x 200 cm) that can be converted into twin beds. Each bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom with a large “Italian-style” shower and modern fixtures. One bedroom is downstairs with a private door onto the garden terrace. The second bedroom is at the top of the stairs, with an entirely private floor for the bedroom and bathroom. Tastefully decorated, both bedrooms have Bergan hotel-grade quality sheets. The Area:

Established in 2007, the Parc Naturel Régional des Alpilles covers the mountain range and its flanks. As a protected natural area, there are restrictions on construction and park usage. However, the artifacts from human settlements discovered in these hills date back to the Neolithic era, and the range is the result of millennia of continuous geological evolution. Surrounding the Alpilles are several villages, each with a distinctive character.

Notes:

For those hot days, a small dipping pool of 3.5×2.5 metres with a depth of 1.1 metres is all you need to cool off.

There are USB plugs for charging electronics.

Ashley organized a masseuse to come to us. The ladies enjoyed that in the privacy of our terrace overlooking our pool. Ashley & Robin were extremely helpful with our questions about sights to see while we were there. We’re still dreaming of those warm chocolate croissants from the local bakery.
