Carolyne Kauser-Abbott · Inspire · Learning French · Living in Provence

Deep in the heart of France, Déborah Pham van Xua is transforming how individuals over 50 and retirees embrace new beginnings through language. Her program, Feel Good French, opens doors to a more connected, fulfilling life by breaking down language barriers with empathy and expertise. In a recent conversation, Déborah and I discussed my own experience living part-time in Provence, and how the confidence to speak French greatly enriches it.

Who is Déborah?

Born in France and raised across four continents, Déborah is a trilingual native. She knows that diverse cultures and global adventures have enriched her life. How can language help people find a sense of belonging? Déborah’s teaching journey—from the bustling streets of China to the tranquil landscapes of New Zealand—has always been guided by that question.

That question inspired the creation of Feel Good French. This French language program is uniquely designed to support expats and retirees in France as they navigate language hurdles. Déborah’s method combines practical communication skills with mindset coaching, emphasizing authentic human connections. Her approach supports those who feel adrift in a sea of unfamiliar traditions. With Déborah’s coaching, she helps her clients to forge meaningful relationships with locals and create a true sense of home.

Speaking French Made Comfortable

The vision for Feel Good French is clear: to transform the expat experience from isolation to seamless integration into French society. Through practical tips and heartfelt support, Déborah empowers her students to dive into French life with confidence and joy—turning challenges into opportunities for genuine connection.

Beyond conventional lessons, Déborah also hosts a captivating YouTube interview series that explores her students’ personal journeys. These stories highlight the initial anxieties, breakthroughs, and triumphs as individuals find their voice in a new language.

Feel Good French is more than a language program—it’s a beacon of hope for anyone seeking a sense of belonging in a new cultural landscape. Under Déborah’s guidance, learning French becomes more than acquiring vocabulary; it becomes an essential step toward feeling truly at home, both culturally and emotionally.
