The Ultimate Road Trip Through Provence: Supercars, Spa Days And A Monaco F1 Grand Finale
Provence has been called many things: a painter’s paradise, perfume capital, land of lavender and light. But what if it were also your open-air racetrack?
Ultimate Road Trip in Provence
Le Grand Tour Provence, a new luxury road trip by Ultimate Driving Tours, invites you to see this beloved region from the driver’s seat of a muscle car. The fleet includes iconic names like Lamborghini Aventador S, McLaren 720S, Audi R8 V10 Spyder, Porsche GT3 992, and more – Ultimate Driving Tours’ car collection would make James Bond envious.

The seven-day itinerary reads like a fantasy for anyone who loves the South of France and a bit of high-octane glamour. You’ll start in the hills near Grasse, at the Terre Blanche Golf & Spa Resort, where mornings can be spent at the award-winning spa and afternoons cruising the surrounding countryside. The cars get rotated among guests, meaning you’ll try out several vehicles throughout the trip, each as showstopping as the last.

The drive itself is a perfectly curated dream. You’ll glide along a section of the famous Route de Napoléon, weave through the gorges and lakesides of the Préalpes d’Azur Regional Natural Park and pause for a château stay near Aix-en-Provence. Evenings are for Michelin-starred dinners – think Le Faventia near Grasse and L’Orangerie in Aix – accompanied by exquisite wines to match the scenery.

Somehow, it gets even better.
From poppy fields and laid-back lunches, the journey shifts east toward Monaco, where the real spectacle begins. The Grand Tour wraps with VIP access to the Monaco Grand Prix – one of the most prestigious car races in the world. Guests watch from a privately chartered superyacht anchored in Port Hercule, with flowing champagne, gourmet canapés, and people-watching that pairs well with Jackie O sunglasses. If you’re lucky (or just quick to book), you can stay aboard in one of the few luxury cabins.
It is a trip designed for those who love the finer things – but also speed and flair. There are no wrong turns: smooth tarmac, fast cars, and five-star everything.
For those who want more – be it more countries, more curves, or more caviar – there’s a longer 11-day route that begins in Zürich and winds through Switzerland and Italy before joining the Provence leg. It includes Michelin-starred pit stops in Andermatt, Lake Maggiore, and Piedmont, plus a welcome dinner in Nice hosted by a Formula 1 driver (yes, really). Other countries and itineraries are also available on Ultimate Driving Tours’ website.
But for us Provençals at heart, Le Grand Tour Provence offers the perfect blend: the perfume of pine in the air, the soft blur of the olive trees outside the window, and the sudden thrill of acceleration. Our beloved Provence, but make it turbo-charged.
