The Ventoux apartment is a holiday “home away from home” set in the old walls of a Provencal château on a wine estate. This gîte is perfect for four people who want to explore the region while enjoying the benefits of Provence’s countryside.

The Apartment:

Ventoux sleeps four (4) people in two bedrooms. This apartment is on the first floor of a building below the medieval chapel. Enjoy the views of Mont Ventoux and the château gardens from this 70 sqm (750 sqft) flat. Enjoy the quiet surroundings in this beautifully decorated apartment. Ventoux has a large living room and well-equipped kitchen with a dining table for eating inside or al fresco meals at the shaded table and chairs.

There are two (2) double bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and the other with twin beds (90 cm). The bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower and a double sink. There is also a separate toilet room.

The Property:

The Ventoux gîte (apartment) at Château de Mille is a comfortable location for discovering the region. Château de Mille is minutes from Apt and its famous Saturday Provençal market. You can visit many beautiful Luberon villages within a short drive from the property.

Dating from the 13th century, Château de Mille was a summer residence of the Avignon popes and the oldest wine estate in the area. The Château first appears in the Avignon archives in 1238. However, there is evidence that the Romans made wine at Villa Milonum as Apta Julia (now Apt) was an essential settlement on the Via Domitia. Some of the estate’s archives are in a permanent exhibition above the winery’s tasting room.

The Château de Mille wine estate covers 116 hectares in Provence’s Luberon countryside near Apt. This magical property has 25 hectares of grapevines planted in a north-facing terroir. It is a micro-climate that benefits from the Mediterranean climate and suitable winds from the Rhône Valley. In addition, the owners of Château de Mille engaged landscape designer Cécile Mangeot to recreate the historic gardens.

Minimum Stay:
Every rental of four (4) nights or more includes a guided château tour and wine tasting.
Five (5) nights during high season, in July-August.

During the balance of the year, there is a two (2) night minimum.

Rates (2024):
Rental rates vary by season, availability and the length of stay. This is a range of weekly rates for Ventoux 805€ – 1085€.

Notes:
Guests at Château de Mille can access the whole estate for lovely walks over 100 hectares of vines and woods.

The layout of this apartment is unsuitable for anyone with mobility challenges.

There is a washer-dryer in the apartment’s utility room.

Parking is a few steps from the apartment.

There is an option to have the twin beds made up into a large bed.
