Upcoming Event: Salon des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants
Taste · The Riviera Grapevine · Wines and Spirits of ProvenceFive Tips to Make the Most of It

One of the region’s best wine events just happens to be on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and is a great way to kick start all your good wine resolutions for the year (such as drinking more wine from Alsace – definitely one of mine) as well as offering an excuse break any non-drinking resolutions which may still be floating around from the new year. It is February, after all!

Provençal Carignan
April 8, 2015
Until the 1970s, Carignan was one of the main grapes of Provence, blended with Grenache and Cinsault to make classic Provençal red and rosé wines. Grenache provided the fruit and sugar, Cinsault the charm and floral notes, Carignan the tannin and acidity. Read the rest of Elizabeth’s post on Provençal Carignan wines here.…
