Teresa Gaik sources her antique Provencal linens at markets and brocantes. This experienced seamstress turns the fabric into beautiful home decor items. Discover pillows, throws, and other lovely things for decorating your home, or for gifts.

If you are a market lover, the Friday morning market in Lourmarin is a must! The old town centre is busy with locals and visitors. Market stalls wind around the narrow streets, and boutiques encourage the shopping spirit with their outdoor displays. Cafe Gaby in the heart of town at Place Ormeau is THE place to people watch over a coffee or lunch (book in advance).

When you visit Lourmarin, allow enough time to wander the narrow streets. For a smallish village (albeit one popular with the tourists) it is the Luberon chic equivalent to St Remy de Provence in the Alpilles. Lourmarin has a collection of galleries, which include works by local artists. There are plenty of shops with linens, woodcraft, glassware and French home decor products. Women’s boutiques abound with shoes, hats, jewellery, and designer clothing.

A traveller at heart, Caroline says she was most probably born under a wandering star. This English girl lives in California, but has a soft spot for France. After living in Provence for 18 months, she admits that she is now torn between the towns of Uzes and Lourmarin - she cannot decide which is her favourite. During her stay in Provence, Caroline launched her blog Shutters and Sunflowers. Her blog is about passion, about living the journey not waiting to get to the destination.
