If that sounds dreamy, book your stay at Les Roches at Château de Mille, a fully-equipped duplex apartment that comfortably accommodates six (6) people inside the old stone walls. In the magical surroundings of the heart of Provence, it is a complete immersion in nature and history.

The Apartment:

Les Roches sleeps six (6) people in three (3) bedrooms. This renovated duplex apartment (150 sqm, 1600 sqft) has two floors, an outdoor terrace for al fresco meals, and access to a small, sun-bathed pool. Enter the apartment’s main floor into a large living room with an office nook. The kitchen is equipped for the cook’s needs and has a table for serving up those delicious tastes of Provence. This floor also has a powder room.

On the second leave, there are three (3) bedrooms. The master bedroom with a queen-sized bed (160cm) includes an ensuite bathroom, and the two other guest rooms with twin beds share a shower room and separate toilet room. All the rooms have comfortable beds, high-quality linens and lovely furnishings. Les Roches is a terrific holiday base in the heart of Provence between Apt and Bonnieux.

The Property:

Located less than 10 minutes from Apt and its famous Saturday Provençal market, this property allows easy access to many beautiful Luberon villages. Château de Mille is an excellent base for a discovery journey of the region.

The Château de Mille wine estate covers 116 hectares in Provence’s Luberon countryside near Apt. This magical property has 25 hectares of grapevines planted in a north-facing terroir. It is a micro-climate that benefits from the Mediterranean climate and suitable winds from the Rhône Valley.

Dating from the 13th century, Château de Mille was a summer residence of the Avignon popes and the oldest wine estate in the area. The Château first appears in the Avignon archives in 1238. However, there is evidence that the Romans made wine at Villa Milonum as Apta Julia (now Apt) was an essential settlement on the Via Domitia. Some of the estate’s archives are in a permanent exhibition above the winery’s tasting room.

Minimum Stay:
Five (5) nights during high season, in July-August.
During the balance of the year, there is a two (2) night minimum.

Every rental of four (4) nights or more includes a guided tour of the château and wine tasting.

Rates (2024):
Rental rates vary by season, availability and the length of stay. This is a range of weekly rates for Les Roches 1400€ – 1960€.

Notes:
Château de Mille guests can access the whole estate for lovely walks over 100 hectares of grapevines and woods.

The two-floor layout of this apartment is unsuitable for anyone with mobility challenges.

There is a washer-dryer in the apartment.

The adjacent parking area includes an electric charging plug.

Bedrooms with twin beds can be made up into one larger bed.
