La Bastide is a stunning villa that comfortably accommodates 14 people in seven (7) bedrooms. This gorgeous property in the heart of the Var, surrounded by the pine forests and the massifs of Tanneron and Estérel, makes a fabulous base for family or group holidays.

The House:

La Bastide is a Provençal villa within walking distance of Callian and Montauroux, two villages in the Pays de Fayence, an unspoilt corner of the Var. The house layout takes advantage of the sweeping views of the hilly countryside and medieval villages. Constructed with a hand-carved stone facade and stone floors, this luxury home is designed for all seasons. In summer or winter, the area has plenty of sunshine, and the location is perfectly positioned for days out to the beach or the ski hills.

This villa has three levels in an open plan for informal indoor/outdoor living. Striking the balance between Provencal tradition and contemporary living, La Bastide has all the modern conveniences and onsite facilities in a tranquil setting.

A large kitchen on the main floor has all the necessary modern appliances and an indoor dining room with a wood-burning stove. The living room is spacious, with two seating areas and a fireplace for the colder periods of the year. Four (4) terraces are at the front and back of the house, with dining tables, a fire pit, and shaded areas for easy entertaining. An open kitchen and dining area by the pool are fully equipped and provide the quintessential outside living venue.

The bedrooms are on all three levels. All five (5) king-sized rooms have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, in-floor heating, and private outdoor seating areas. Two (2) bedrooms have adjoining children’s bedrooms with beds for 2 and 3 children, respectively.

La Bastide’s second floor of the villa is the master/family suite with a huge ensuite bathroom, children’s room with a bunk bed, and sofa. Throughout the villa, the furnishings and fixtures are of the highest quality.

Should your party require extra accommodation, there is also a self-contained apartment (suitable for a couple) in the renovated 18th-century Le Pigeonnier tower on the grounds. Le Pigeonnier has an ensuite bedroom with a king-sized bed. There is also a kitchenette and a small eating area. This suite is available at an additional rate.

The Property:

La Bastide is a 40-minute drive from the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (Aéroport de Nice). Many Provence and the Cote D’Azur attractions are easily reached for day trips and short excursions.

Perched on its own hilltop, with sweeping 360° views, La Bastide is nestled between the attractive perched villages of Callian and Montauroux. The property is fenced and gated, with ample private parking and onsite facilities, including a heated saltwater pool, floodlit boules court, table tennis and lawn games.

Surrounded by the pine and oak forest of La Défens, the communities of Montauroux and Callian maintain many hiking and biking trails near La Bastide, with additional tennis, golf, and spa facilities available nearby.

Ideal for:
The Main villa (+ Pigeonnier apartment if required) is ideal for families/extended families. The maximum number of children is five (5) under 14 years unless agreed otherwise—no pets, unsuitable for wheelchairs.

The Pigeonnier apartment is suitable for a couple. No pets, unsuitable for children or mobility impaired, as there is a steep staircase.

Minimum Stay:
Main villa (La Bastide): Minimum stay June – October is one (1) week, Saturday to Saturday. Other times, the minimum stay is five (5) days.

Pigeonnier apartment – available for rental with main villa June – September. Available as a separate minimum five (5) day rental mid and low-season.

Rates:
Main villa (La Bastide): 8,000 – 14,000 Euros depending on season and availability.

Pigeonnier: 900 – 1,200 Euros in mid and low season.

Notes:
The main house can be rented all the year. During peak seasons, it is rented on a fully occupied basis. At other times, it may be rented on a partial occupancy basis.

Fresh bed, bath and pool linens are provided weekly at la Bastide.

There is a fully outfitted summer kitchen with a six-burner BBQ and a pizza oven.

Le Pigeonnier apartment can also be rented as single accommodation during off-peak seasons.
