Description
The Old Farm House is a restored mas (Provencal farmhouse) in Coitgnac, a delightful village in the heart of the Provence Verte in the Var. This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home comfortably sleeps 6 to 7 people. From the Old Farm House, explore the Var countryside and its timeless villages or head to the coast for a day.
The House:
The Old Farm House has three comfortable bedrooms located upstairs (3 double beds of 140 cm x 190cm and 1 single bed of 90cm) and two bathrooms (1 shower / 1 bath). The common areas are on the ground floor: a bright living room with a television and a fully equipped kitchen to easily prepare meals. Admire the natural surroundings landscape from the home’s terrace as you can enjoy your meals outdoors.
This home is a slice of Provencal magic. Nestled in the enchanting south of France, this holiday rental offers a unique experience for those looking for a home away from home. With its vineyard setting, the Old Farm House’s rustic refurbishment and a cozy log burner make it a haven for relaxation and exploration.
The Property and Area:
Located three (3) kilometres from the historic village of Cotignac, the Old Farm House offers convenient access to renowned destinations such as Cannes, Nice, Aix-en-Provence, St Tropez, and the stunning Gorges du Verdon. From the inviting pool (in construction) and well-equipped kitchen to the comfy beds, the house suits those who want to relax and stay in. Step into the expansive garden and enjoy the views and smell of Provence.
Cotignac is a small village, a jewel tucked into the middle of the Var, an area known as “Provence Verte.” The village’s nickname is “le petit Saint Tropez” because back in the 1950s and ’60s, the jet-set pack (Brigitte Bardot and filmmakers, members of the Rolling Stones, and David Bowie) would run away from the paparazzi on the French Riviera for an escape to authentic Provence.
One of 43 villages in the Provence Verte, Cotignac is a wonderful place for anyone to visit, particularly for active people who like walking, hiking, or running. Stunning walks lead to waterfalls, vineyards, and olive groves, or you can climb the limestone cliffs from which you can catch panoramic views stretching for miles. This village has had a long history of human settlement, as evidenced by cliffside troglodyte dwellings and two hilltop Medieval forts.
Tuesday morning is market day in Cotignac, and producers set up stands on the main street. Cotignac is a great place to visit all year, but it is particularly active during the summer when festivities occur.
