Located on Villefranche’s shoreline, the Waterfront Penthouse is so close that you can see fish swimming while you sit on the balcony. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath holiday rental has a panoramic view of the sea, Cap Ferrat and the stunning cliffs of Villefranche. This building is one of the most photographed in Villefranche, appearing on postcards, paintings, and books about the area.
Extremely private, the Waterfront Penthouse has a romantic feel, especially at night when reflections of golden light from street lanterns dance on the water. Although this is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment, it is best suited for a couple with an occasional guest or grown child. It is not ideal for two couples as it is an intimate space.
A custom-made stairwell accesses the master bedroom on the mezzanine. This loft space is open to the main room below but remains private for dressing and sleeping. There is a queen-size bed with high-quality bedding and down pillows. While lounging in bed, enjoy the dramatic view of the turquoise sea through the French doors. There are two skylights for air circulation and beautiful views of the cliffs at the end of the bay. The ensuite bathroom has a large bathtub/shower and excellent storage for toiletries.
Downstairs the second bedroom has a double bed, and there is plenty of natural light and mesmerizing views. The second full bathroom is adjacent to this bedroom.
From the main living area, three French doors open onto a 12-meter-long, wrap-around balcony. The terrace has a gas barbecue and a dining table that accommodates two-four people. Sun loungers and folding stools and chairs provide additional seating.
Enjoy unobstructed views of the Mediterranean from the great room (living, dining and office nook). The dining table comfortably seats four but can up to eight with the leaves extended.
The gourmet kitchen has all the amenities, including a gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, a full refrigerator, microwave and all the cooking utensils for cooking and entertaining.
The rear of the apartment looks onto Place du Conseil, on rue du Poilu, where you enter the building. Rue du Poilu is one of the principal pedestrian streets in the old town with several restaurants and shops. One of the highlights of Place du Conseil is a charming double staircase that surrounds a bench and a small fountain with cool, potable water.
Waterfront Penthouse overlooks Plage des Marinieres, a sweeping sandy beach lapped by the sparkling Mediterranean. With a gentle drop-off, this public beach is a lovely place for an early morning or late afternoon swim.

You enter the building on the 3rd floor, therefore there are only two flights of stairs to the Penthouse, one of which is inside the apartment.
You do not need a car as it’s a quick walk to local shops and restaurants.
Public transport (train and bus) is convenient and safe.
The apartment is non-smoking. However, it is acceptable to smoke on the balcony with the doors closed so smoke doesn’t enter the unit.
No air-conditioning, but there are fans.
Entertainment technology includes a private WIFI, Smart TV with French & SKY (English stations), a DVD and stereo system with Bluetooth so you can connect your music, and inside and outside speakers.
There is a phone line with free international calling.
