Le petit Figuier (The little Figtree) is an adorable bed and breakfast in the centre of the old part of La Roque d’Anthéron, recognized for its 4-week International Piano Festival at the Parc de Château de Florans and also the famous Silvacane Abbey (one of the ‘3 sisters in Provence’). This B&B has two comfortable guest rooms. Throughout the year the Danish/English owners welcome guests from all over the world to their quiet corner of Provence.
Constructed in 1718, this grand house, in the middle of an old Provençal village, is quiet and private. The two guest rooms have been renovated a few years ago and decorated in a mixture of French, English and Scandinavian styles. The rooms are equipped with everything for guests to have a relaxed and comfortable stay. Both guest rooms will accommodate three (3) people.
The Tamara Room has a king-size bed, a daybed, ensuite shower room, A/C, desk, comfortable chairs and a little balcony with pretty views.
The Rose Room has two single beds, a daybed, desk, A/C, comfortable chairs, a separate private shower room and a separate private toilet.
Both rooms are on the 2nd floor, so not for people who cannot climb a staircase.
During the warmer months breakfast is served on the terrace in the little, but perfectly formed garden with a couple of fig and olive trees, as well as many plants and it is also where guests can relax and enjoy the pool (9m x 4m).
Honeymooners, couples and singles. This old house is not suitable for children or pets. The owners have a very happy Golden Retriever.
If a third person is staying in the room there is a surcharge of 35€ per night.
A deposit of 50% is required when booking to secure the room(s).
No credit cards accepted…only money transfer or cash accepted.
As the house is in the centre of the old part of the village, very few have parking at their house, everybody park in the streets and village car parks, and it is never a problem and only 2 minutes walk away.
What their guests say:
We were staying for 3 nights in the area so ‘Le petit Figuier’ fitted the bill perfectly as it was so close to beautiful local villages like Lourmarin and Lacoste and also to Aix-en-Provence and Avignon, a bit further afield. There is a selection of good restaurants a stone’s throw away and an added bonus is the proximity of the Parc and abbey for the summer Piano Festival (not to be missed for stunning performances in beautiful settings). Lis and Graham were very welcoming and generous hosts and a mine of information about the area. Our room was very comfortable, it was lovely to have delicious breakfasts in the pretty garden and an evening dip to cool off in the pool was very welcome. Definitely recommended! ~ Guest review from July 2019
