Sault The Lavender Capital

By Philippe Goninet

Sault is known in the region as one of the best place for Lavender.
It is indeed our Lavender Mecca! The other famous Lavender land is Le plateau de Valensone where you can see plenty of lavender fields but “less action” to my taste.

Philippe Goninet

Philippe grew up in hotels run by family in the resort town of Vichy. Hospitality and food interests directed Goninet’s educational choices of Business School in Paris (IPAG) and the Ecole Hôteliere de Lausanne (EHL). He put his degrees to the test working in London at the French Tourist Board then at a central hotel. Then he “decided I needed sun and moved down south.” That is how he ended up in St Remy de Provence. Now this former Hotelier (managed a 4 star in St Remy for 11 years), is sharing Provence with others by offering private "tailor made" tours.
