Lou Messugo a Holiday Rental in Provence

“Where I was born doesn’t help clarify anything, it just complicates things! Born in Paris but moved when two weeks old so not exactly a Parisienne! Pure coincidence that I’m now married to a Frenchman and living in France. I have two passports, British & Australian but feel international.”

That is according to Phoebe Thomas, a “career expat” and Third Culture Kid (TCK) who is one of the regular contributors to Perfectly Provence – you can read her bio here.

Phoebe from Lou Messugo @FibiTeePhoebe and her husband met in Vietnam and later married forming a multicultural Franco/British-Australian union, here is their story of deciding where to get married.

After living in nine countries (Phoebe), extensive travel (both of them) and two kids who are “tricultural and bilingual” the family settled in Roquefort les Pins in the Alpes-Maritimes of Provence. The family chose their French home for practical reasons, mid-way between the office and the kids’ school. They were in turn arrested by the natural surroundings, which Phoebe describes in this way:

“Roquefort les Pins is ideally located for everything really – mountains, sea, Nice, Grasse, nothing is far. It has enough shops for daily living, which we can walk to, but it still feels rural surrounded, by forests. There are stunning views at every turn too which just lift the soul!”

Now that this travel-bug family is rooted near the Cote d’Azur they are inviting travellers to visit their holiday home rental that they have called Lou Messugo. You can read the full story of how their home got its name from the wild cistus flower here.
