Gordes, a Beautiful Hillside Village in the Luberon
Contributor blog post by Michel:
Gordes is a beautiful village in the Luberon region about 1 hour southeast of our home in Sablet. The obviously strategic site where Gordes sits has been occupied since prehistoric times. According to Michel, the village is also the #1 tourist attraction in the Luberon, which translates into crowds and traffic jambs in the busiest months of the year.
Must see in Gordes:
The Pol Mara museum located in the old castle
Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs (art gallery)
Tuesday morning market
Nearby Bories village
Nearby Sénanque Abbey (Cistercian abbey from the 12th century)
